Since we arrived, we were greeted by a space full of calm and good energy, spotlessly clean and with every detail thought out to enjoy. The location is unbeatable: steps from the beach and very close to downtown, but quiet enough to hear only the sound of nature at night. Every sunrise and sunset from the terrace was a gift that will remain in our memory.
The cool and cozy rooms, the equipped kitchen and the open spaces really make you feel like you're in a small private paradise. In addition, the host's service was warm, close and always attentive, which made our stay even more special. This is definitely a place to reconnect, relax and experience the unique magic of Holbox. “Great house! Love the location and the beach set up for us. Amazing!! We were a group of 10 women. The property contains 2 separate houses with 3 beds each – they are identical. Omar was always close by to help us and takes great care of the property. The maid came every day which was much needed with a group of 10 women.
We met Coco next door at Zomay and he was amazing!! He helped us with taxis, golf cart rental, food… and just understanding a few things about the island. House is great for a group.”

“Our stay at Casa Mariposa was wonderful! Two families spent Christmas together here and it was perfect! There was even a Christmas tree!!! The house is very spacious with plenty of room for 12 people. We had an extra bedroom because there is a bungalow in the back that was added space for one of the couples. The two masters were identical so no deciding who gets the best room.
We walked everywhere! Restaurants and bars were delicious, and the shopping was surprisingly very good. We cannot say enough about Pati and Omar and their sweet kids who did housekeeping for us every day – inside and out! WOW! Guadalupe was a magnificent concierge and Jesus handled all of our needs for taxi and transportation.
Overall, Holbox is a safe and enchanting island with lots to do and see.”

Beautiful house in an amazing location. Loved the restaurant next door. The ocean was turquoise and warm. The front private beach area was exceptional. Only critique is the prices were inflated. We’d had past experiences in Airbnbs in Mexico where the property manager would be on our side, helping us navigate local ways without being overcharged. But everything booked through them had a 25% service charge openly added.

We were 6 adults and 7 children ages 3-10. The house was very clean and right next to the beach. We were in the centre of the action and an easy walk to Holbox' "downtown" while the property was still very private. Ideal for children with a small pool between the house and the beach, children would go back and forth and it was easy to keep an eye on them. 1 minute walk to the best bar to catch a sundowner on the island

Casa Mariposa is a great place to stay. It is nicely decorated as can be seen from the web pictures. Having two houses plus a bungalow allowed us to have different families in each house and at the same time meet during the day in front of the houses or by the beach. Casa Mariposa is well situated: next to it is a bar which offers great breakfast, and across the street there is a hotel: the reception is very nice and they graciously can make taxi reservations if needed. The house staff is very good: they check regularly if everything is fine and can meet your request. Overall, it is hard to find a better place to stay!

Casa Mariposa far exceeded our expectations! The houses are large, comfortable, clean, well-furnished and contain many amenities. Patí cleaned, did our laundry, and provided clean beach and bath towels every day. Guadalupe arranged our transportation to and from Cancun airport, gave us excellent restaurant recommendations, arranged our chosen tours, answered all our questions, and gave us excellent advice. This property is walking distance, just minutes from everything. The house, location, pool, and private beach add a welcome sense of privacy. We give this Casa Mariposa and its hosts the highest recommendation!

Beach House for large groups of up to 20.

Possibly the best home on the island. Perfect location. Easy walking to shops and dining. Private beach area close enough to hotel restaurant to have waiter service daily for fresh drinks. Home and beach area cleaned daily. Woke up each morning hearing the waves crashing, watching the sun rise, then walking right out to our own private beach area. Perfect home for large groups.

The pictures aren’t close to comparing to how breathtaking and perfect this property is!!! It’s impeccable!!! The furnishings give you the island feel while the sea and sand take your breath away... What a special place! I’m in love with Holbox and this home has to be one of the most beautiful and most perfectly located homes on the island. It was 2 steps from the best island sunset spot, one block from the local market and 2 blocks from the center of town. It is close to everything but far enough away to remain quiet and peaceful. Bike rentals were one block away and golf cart rentals are right at the main square only 2 blocks away. The home has everything you could need for an amazing vacation. The cushions are placed on the lounge chairs every morning and the beach raked. The pool is so nice for a dip and of course the gorgeous sea is a few steps in front of the house. The TV offered Netflix, etc for movies which was an added bonus for lazy evenings. Fantastic restaurants and shops are again only a few blocks away. Megan and Fred were wonderful hosts and responded to any of my questions so quickly. Chuy who manages the property and lives on the island made sure we had everything we needed and was always available during our stay. If you have the opportunity book this house as I can promise you will have the most amazing vacation! Thank you Megan, Fred and Chuy for exceeding my every expectation! I’ll be back! Tiffany

PERFECT....in every way!

To begin, Chuy, the house manager is a gem! He made all our transportation arrangements. We were greeted at the airport, ferry etc and taken directly to the house. Safe and easy! Chuy answered all our questions and arranged a day of fishing and touring with Capt. Carmello. We caught fish and Capt Carmello turned it into the best cheviche we have ever had. The house is located on the perfect spot! Close to everything and yet provides a private oasis. It is spotless, beautifully decorated and has everything you need. One of the best parts of our stay was that the owners, Megan and Fred happened to be there. They were so welcoming and a joy to get to know. By the end of our week we felt we had made new friends! Loved every minute on Holbox!

Perfect location for relaxed family holiday
We loved this property. It is in the best location - on the beach yet an easy walk into town for entertainment and shopping for supplies. We had the pleasure of meeting Meghan and Fred, who were extremely friendly and helpful. Chuy, the house manager, was also very helpful and he arranged an amazing boat trip for us among other things. The house is spacious and comfortable. Home from home.

Wonderful getaway
It was our first visit to Holbox and will not be our last. Meghan and Fred's home was wonderful for our family of 4 (children ages 2 and 4) We loved the proximity to downtown and the beach. We spent every night walking right out of the home to the beach bar next door to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The home was supplied with all the necessary items needed and was decorated beautifully. We had the opportunity to spend time with Meghan and Fred during our stay and loved every moment. We learned about the island, Captain Carmelo who took us on a boat tour/fishing and made ceviche with it (one of highlights of the trip) Although the WiFi didn't work when we were there, we didn't try hard to troubleshoot it as it was wonderful being off the grid for a week. We look forward to returning to this wonderful island and home! vacation rental by owner

Perfect!
Our stay at Casa Mariposa villa on Isla Holbox was absolutely perfect. The house was ideal for our family of 5 (kids ages 9, 7, 3) and very comfortable. Luxurious but homey too. The layout worked well for us and the location is ideal. Quiet and private yet walking distance to all amenities too. Holbox is wonderful and our only regret is that we could only stay for four days. We’ll be back for longer time as soon as we can and will stay at Casa Mariposa again.

Holbox Fun
The property is right on the beach and steps away from town. There's a fun little beach bar right around the corner, perfect for toasting the sunset. Chuy the property manager was amazing, arranging the transportation to and from the airport, and always available to answer any questions about the house.

Lovely home in excellent location with great amenities
Loved the house and it's location and proximity to bars and restaurants. It's out of the way enough to be a more private part of the beach but close enough to walk next door and get a drink if you want. The front 'yard' on the beach with Lounge chairs and beach bed are perfect. Chuy the house manager always seems to be available but never invades your privacy, he makes the stay even more amazing. For our family of 5 it was perfect! I could see the kids in the pool from the kitchen and had several shady spots to relax and read or have a drink. We would stay again without hesitation
